Hell’s Kitchen fire: 80-year-old woman rescued, 3 residents injured when flames poured out from a NYC apartment building

HELL’S KITCHEN, Manhattan (WABC) – A second alarm fire shot flames from a Hell’s Kitchen apartment, injuring three residents.

Firefighters rescued residents with a bucket from the burning five-story building on West 50th Street just before 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

Flames erupted from the third-floor windows and reached the fourth floor of the apartment above the popular Rancho Tequileria restaurant.

It spread so quickly, the flames came out of all the windows, glass broke, “said an eyewitness.” There were so many firefighters who came to the aid of all the people inside. I just hope and pray that everyone is fine. “

The fire department was able to save an 80-year-old woman who was stuck on her fire escape.

They carefully brought her to safety.

Three residents were injured. All were expected to survive.

Three firefighters were slightly injured and taken to hospital for examination.

The other evacuated residents were allowed back into the building around 5 a.m.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
